Time to act: Green finance is key to achieving climate action at the scale needed

In this video presentation to the Doctors for the Environment 2022 national conference, CEF director Tim Buckley details how green finance is rapidly accelerating globally, and is key to achieving climate action on the scale and in the timeframe needed.

For example, the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero now has a collective US$130 trillion of capital pledged to investing, insuring and lending in line with a 1.5 degree trajectory. In short, the climate science is being acknowledged by global financial institutions, and when finance moves – get out of the way. The talk presents some leading global examples of these massive capital flows in action.
