EVENT | Chatham House Panel on Doing Business in China and Geopolitical Considerations

On Wednesday, 12 March, CEF had the privilege of participating in an intimate Chatham House panel discussion titled “Doing Business in China and Geopolitical Considerations.” Held at the beautiful Merchant House, 333 Kent Street, the session brought together a small group of senior professionals for a candid conversation on one of the most pressing issues facing international business today.

We were honoured to be joined by a distinguished panel:

  • The Hon. Warwick Smith AO
  • Victoria Guo, Partner and Head of Shanghai at SEC Newgate
  • Damian Bruckard, Founder & CEO of Geopolitical Strategy

The discussion explored the evolving dynamics of doing business in China amid increasing geopolitical uncertainty. From navigating shifting regulatory frameworks to interpreting China’s global strategy and managing reputational risk, the panel offered invaluable perspectives grounded in deep expertise and on-the-ground experience.

With just 20 attendees, the session provided a rare opportunity for meaningful dialogue, open Q&A, and genuine insight-sharing under the Chatham House Rule.
