ACBC Victoria was delighted to host our first Business Frontiers roundtable on April 29, focusing on the Energy & Resources sector and the evolving opportunities at the intersection of Australia’s energy transition and China’s green economy ambitions.
We had the honour of hearing from our speakers Tom Parker, Caroline Wang and Peter Hansford, who each brought a valuable perspective to the discussion.
Tom opened the session with insights from the ACBC National Green Economy Forum and the 2025 Smart Energy Expo, emphasising the need for scalable investment models and strong policy alignment to accelerate clean energy development.
In an engaging keynote presentation, Caroline underscored China’s global clean tech leadership and outlined the potential for high-impact initiatives such as green steel production partnerships between Fortescue and China Baowu, and solar manufacturing collaborations like Trina Solar and SunDrive.
Peter rounded off the presentations with a detailed view of Victoria’s energy priorities, focusing on critical minerals and the role of collaborative investment to support transition goals. As the ACBC Vic Energy & Resources Working Group Chair, he also stressed the importance of collaborative investment and engagement within the initiative.
The session concluded with a lively Q&A and networking opportunity that encouraged new connections and future partnerships.
ACBC Victoria thanks all speakers and attendees for contributing to a timely and impactful conversation on advancing Australia-China cooperation in the clean energy space.
