Australia-EU Hydrogen Supply Chain Forum Successfully Held in Perth

On 4–5 September 2025, the Governments of Australia, Germany, and the Netherlands, supported by the EU Delegation to Australia, the Australian Hydrogen Council, the Italian Consulate, and the Danish Government, hosted the inaugural Australia-EU Hydrogen Supply Chain Forum. This exclusive gathering brought together senior delegations from Germany, the Netherlands, and many other European guests, alongside Australian leaders from government, industry, and research.

As part of the forum program, Tim from Climate Energy Finance participated in a panel discussion, contributing insights on hydrogen finance, policy, carbon pricing and CBAM plus the need for international collaboration and partnerships. This conference discussed the potential for a FOAK lighthouse project for the export of green iron to Germany, supported by a bilateral German-Australian public-private partnership, ECAs and the EU CBAM.
